Shrewsbury vehicle rental firm Jolly Good Van Hire are pleased to announce a free vehicle tracking facility for all its customers. Using GPS technology customers can view the location of their hire vehicles in real time 24/7 from any PC or smartphone internet access. Additionally, reports can be easily obtained which show speeds, location, route, stopping times and more.

Through a partnership with Trackyou Ltd of Wrexham cars & vans in the Jolly Good Van Hire fleet have been fitted with GPS trackers. Vehicle data is updated every few minutes so it’s possible for users to see in real time where their drivers are, hours worked, estimated arrival times as well a wealth of other information including historical data.

As well as providing managers reassurance that their staff are doing as they should there is also a Health & Safety benefit as lone remote workers can be quickly located and given instant assistance should they encounter difficulties whilst driving. It is also possible to quickly see where a driver/delivery is if a customer is querying arrival times etc.

It was a great night at the Morgan awards Dinner on Thursday night. Best Suits and Party Frocks all around, unfortunately we did not quite make to the No1 Spot, but Runner Up is a fantastic achievement and great recognition of our Jolly Journey so far. The sun was shining on Friday at the opening of the Jolly Good Van Hire Ely Branch, lots of people turned up to wish Phil, Peter and Jamie luck in there new venture. They have chosen to support the Brain Injury’s Trust as their chosen charity so £5 out of every rental will be going to them over the next month so let’s hope we raise as much as we can for this very worthwhile cause.

It was great to hear the boys had sold out on their first weekend, so keep up the good work!

Jolly Good Van Hire – Shrewsbury raise money for charity in Shropshire

Jolly Good Van Hire  Raise Money For Charity

A team from Jolly Good Van Hire in Shrewsbury recently completed a 400 mile cycle trip from Shrewsbury to Paris raising more than £2,400 for Severn Hospice.

The team of staff, customers and suppliers departed from the hospice at Bicton Heath for their five day journey, cycling on average 80 miles per day.

The Shrewsbury team first cycled to Crystal Palace in London where they met up with a team from the company’s Wrexham depot who were cycling in aid of the Nightingale House Hospice in Chester.

The whole group then rode on to Paris, for an emotional finish under the Eiffel Tower. Over £20,000 was raised in total for the two charities.

The whole trip went without a hitch, not even so much as a puncture and a great video from the trip can be seen on the Jolly Good Van Hire Facebook page.

Shrewsbury Depot Manager Jason King said: “We are delighted to once again support such a fantastic cause. Cycling into the centre of London was very hair raising and I never want to do that again however the open roads of northern France were beautiful. Watch this space for details of next year’s charity event.”
Community Fundraising Advisor Mike Perry said: “As a charity that relies on the community it serves for two thirds of our income, the fact that Jason and his ‘Jolly Good’ colleagues continue to support us with their adventures is something that we greatly appreciate.”
